It started with community.
In 1971, a group of idealistic community members formed a buying club to source organic, wholesome products. This was the beginning of what would eventually become Coos Head Food Co-op. Since then, Coos Head Food Co-op has become much more than just a cooperative grocery store; we are a vibrant community hub dedicated to promoting well-being and sustainability. We provide a curated selection of local and organic products sourced from our region including farm fresh produce, eggs, meat, seafood, bread, beer and wine, and more. Ownership
You do not need to be an owner of the co-op to shop here. Everyone can shop, and anyone can join! When you choose to join, you’re prioritizing small, local, organic, and sustainable. You’re supporting the local farmers, bakers, artisans, and food producers whose products we carry. You’re supporting the local economy, and you’re choosing to help sustain a business that you think this community needs. Since 1971, we’ve been the stop for locally produced, healthy, organic products, and with your help, we’ll continue to do so!

We are open to everyone! You do not need to be an owner/member to shop here.

There is no annual cost. Owners make a one time equity payment of $150 to join. This can be paid all at once, or in installments over time.

When you become a member, you join a like-minded community that cares about shopping local, shopping small, shopping sustainable. You help our store stay viable, and you support the local farmers/bakers/artisans/etc. whose products we carry.
But there are financial beneifts too! Every other month is Member Appreciation Month, where members get to use one 10% discount on a shopping trip of their choosing. Members also receive 10% off all special orders. They receive special pricing on select brands/products in the store. And, members get their 10th deli item free. Plus, if the co-op is profitable, members are issued a financial dividend.
